For 70 years, Sunnybrook Centre for Independent Living (SCIL) has been helping patients with their mobility, pain management, and independence. We use a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. In our assessment clinics, you will see a team of specialists who will work together to design your treatment plan.
Our team of experts is made up of surgeons, physiatrists, prosthetists, orthotists, pedorthists, specialized physiotherapists and occupational therapists, and certified technicians. Our experts also include a full-time funding advisor to help you navigate your funding applications and financing.
Our services include:
- Prosthetics and amputee care (prosthetic devices)
- Orthotics services (and custom braces)
- Pedorthics services (custom-foot orthotics and footwear)
- Podiatry services (foot care)
We also work with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) to offer specialized services to injured workers. Some of our services require a referral from a healthcare provider.
