About Us
Dr. Katherine Whang, B.A.Bio, D.C., FIAMA
As a licensed chiropractic physician and a member of good standing with the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, Dr. Katherine Whang graduated in 2001 from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (now known as Southern California University of Health Sciences) after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at California State University, Fullerton.
Since graduation, Dr. Whang has worked in California, Connecticut, and Toronto while furthering her studies in pediatric, pre-and post-natal chiropractic, spinal disc conditions, and McKenzie Protocol. She is certified in acupuncture through the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture and is a member of the Acupuncture Council of Ontario. Understanding that pain is multifaceted and can often require collaborative care, she works closely with the registered massage therapists, physiotherapists, chiropodists, and naturopaths here at Nouveau Wellness.
Dedicated to helping patients achieve independence within their own healthcare, Dr. Katherine Whang believes in conservative spinal care by utilizing non-invasive techniques such as – spinal manipulative therapy, McKenzie protocol, rehabilitative exercises, trigger point therapy, and acupuncture, which are all designed to reduce pain and restore function. To that end, she has helped develop treatment programs based on the individual’s needs, emphasizing the importance of self-care and therapeutic exercises for overall well-being.
Dr. Christopher H. Lee, B.Sc., D.C., CAFCI, Cert. MDT
Dr. Christopher Lee grew up in the North York area and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo in 1997. He then attended the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, now the Southern California University of Health Sciences, and completed his degree in Doctor of Chiropractic in 2001 graduating with cum laude honours. He has since returned from his studies in the US and opened Yonge-Norton Chiropractic Centre in 2003 and then Nouveau Wellness in 2013, with the vision of providing a multi-faceted direction to health care and treatment for various health conditions.
Since graduation, Dr. Lee has furthered his studies and became certified in acupuncture, as well as being 1 of only 2 chiropractors in Canada to be certified in the McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (Cert. MDT).
Dr. Lee uses a mechanical model in his approach to the treatment of the body. The use of manual medicine has allowed him to quickly restore function in his patients, as well as empower them with the tools and knowledge that will allow them to lead a more productive and enjoyable lifestyle.
